For most of my working life I thought rest was something you got to after you had suffered enough. I genuinely believed that. It took me until my late sixties to see how daft that was, and even then only because my knees gave out and I had no choice.
OtherI stayed angry at someone for years because it felt like I was protecting myself. The cost of that was pretty ordinary and boring and I almost missed it entirely.
